Emmy nominated photojournalist and documentary filmmaker, Scott Kesterson
Scott Kesterson, began his career as an embedded journalist with the Army National Guard 41st brigade in Afghanistan. His documentary, BARDS OF WAR, presents an inside look at the forces of war in places few have seen before.
His combat footage, aired on both
Frontline and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and through the
internet, has been viewed worldwide creating an iconic image of a war
that only those who have “been there” could know.
Kesterson was the first full-time embedded news blogger and captured the first footage of Canadian troops in combat since Korea. In May 2007 he earned a regional Emmy Award for his combat photography.

Governor Barbara Roberts discussed her new autobiography, "Up the Capitol Steps: A Woman's March to the Governorship"
As a descendant of Oregon Trail pioneers and a fourth generation Oregonian, former Gov. Barbara K. Roberts has carried forth the tradition of trailblazing and innovation. Barbara Roberts was elected Governor of the State of Oregon in November of 1990, becoming not only the first woman governor of her state but also one of the first 10 female governors in the nation. During her four-year term (1991 to 1995), Governor Roberts was recognized as a strong advocate for environmental management, human rights and civil rights, and creative workforce development. She also became a nationally acknowledged leader in the field of government redesign and reinvention.

David Sarasohn has been commenting on politics and making fun of politicians for The Oregonian since 1983. In 2008, Sarasohn was a finalist in commentary in the American Society of Newspaper Editors Contest, and his work is included in "Best Newspaper Writing, 2008-2009." His columns have twice won First Place Awards in the "Best of the West" contest, and he won the 2002 Pulliam Fellowship for Editorial Writers. He has written two books, and his articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Harper's and The Nation.

Charles "Chuck" Sheketoff is the Executive Director and a founder of the Oregon Center for Public Policy. Prior to starting the OCPP in 1997 with a "Public Interest Pioneer Award" from the Stern Family Fund, Chuck lobbied the Oregon Legislative Assembly on behalf of the low-income clients of legal aid programs (1993, 1995) and the Oregon Law Center (1997). He is intimately familiar with Oregon budget and tax policy and social safety net programs. In the past he was on the state Child Care Commission, and more recently he was on the Comprehensive Revenue Restructuring Task Force.
